Specialty Clinics

 During school breaks, spring, summer, and winter, TCG will hold a variety of specialty gymnastics clinics. Clinics specialize in a certain skill or certain pieces of apparatus. See below to learn more about the different types of clinics we offer. Most clinics are available for children ages 5 – 14, however, depending on the specific clinic age groups may be limited. Clinics are $30 for members and $35 for non members. Sibling discounts do not apply.

Handstand Clinic Beginning/Intermediate Ages 5-13: Monday, March 23 3:25pm-4:20pm
Cartwheel Clinic Beginning/Intermediate Ages 5-13:
Wednesday, March 25 3:25pm-4:20pm

Martial Arts Clinic Ages 3-6: Tuesday, March 24 3:25pm-4:20pm
Martial Arts Clinic Ages 7-14: Tuesday, March 24 4:35pm-5:30pm
Self-Defense Clinic Ages 10-14: Thursday, March 26 3:30pm-5:30pm *Clinic is 2 hours & requires parent participation

Cartwheel Clinic Beginning/Intermediate:

This clinic is geared for students who are learning cartwheels, still mastering the skill, or ready to start progressing further. Athletes will work their strength, flexibility and the motion of the cartwheel over and over again. In this clinic students will work on different drills utilizing a variety of equipment to improve their cartwheeling skills.

Handstand Clinic Beginning/Intermediate:

This clinic is geared for students who are learning handstands, still mastering the skill, or ready to start progressing further. Athletes will work their strength, flexibility and the motion of the handstand over and over again. In this clinic students will work on different drills utilizing a variety of equipment to improve their skills

Martial Arts:

The basic philosophy of American Freestyle Martial Arts is to train students to defend themselves, develop a positive attitude, help them become healthy and fit, and to provide a fun and encouraging learning environment. Our 3-6 year old clinic is designed for our youngest students to learn some of the basics of martial arts including: blocks, punches, and kicks all through fun filled age appropriate exercises. In addition, students will participate in drills that help with body control, focus, and teamwork. Our 7 – 14 year old clinic will provide school age students with the basics of martial arts as well as self-defense & safety techniques. In addition, students will participate in drills that help with coordination, fitness, and self-control.

Self-Defense:

This two-hour clinic will cover introductory empowerment-based self-defense. Participants will learn about awareness of red flag behaviors in others, how to use verbal and nonverbal boundary setting in any situation, and basic physical self defense techniques. The curriculum is trauma-informed. This is a parent participation clinic. Each participant should be accompanied by 1 or 2 adults who will participate in non-physical aspects of the clinic with their children.

TnT Clinic:

Trampoline, Tumbl Trak & Tumbling. This clinic is the perfect opportunity for your child to work on a gym favorite! Students will work on the trampoline, tumbl trak and tumbling floor on a variety of progressing and fun skills. Students of all skill level welcome.

Cartwheel Clinic Advanced:

This clinic is geared for older students who are reading to learn more advanced skills progressing from a cartwheel . Athletes will work on different drills utilizing a variety of equipment to improve their progressing cartwheel skills. In order to enroll in this clinic, children must be a Level 2 gymnast (at any gym) and have a cartwheel starting from both legs (opposite leg does not need to be perfect), run hurdle cartwheel, handstand, and round off.

Tumbling Clinic:

This clinic will provide a time for athletes to work on a variety of tumbling skills and drills on the spring floor, tumbl trak and trampoline. Athletes will work on increasing their strength and flexibility as they pertain to tumbling skills as well. This clinic is open to students of all skill level.

Stretch & Flex:

Gymnastics skills require a certain level of flexibility and strength. In this clinic, students will work through a variety of different stretches and yoga techniques to increase their flexibility for different tumbling skills. Students will learn how different areas of body flexibility plays a part in skills and will then apply those techniques. Students will utilize the tumbling floor and other pieces of gymnastics equipment for their flexibility and skill work. Students of all skill level are welcome.
