About Our Children’s Gymnastics Program

Our classes are divided into two programs: Preschool Gymnastics Classes and School-Aged Children’s Gymnastics Classes. Both programs are non-competitive, co-ed, and separated by age. To learn more about each program and our individual children’s gymnastics classes, click the buttons below.

Within our preschool program, it is common for students to overlap in age and remain in their current class during the late springtime. For example, children with a late March or April birthday who are enrolled in our 4-year-old Tiny Tumblers class and turn five will remain in Tiny Tumblers versus transferring into the 5-year-old Fancy Flippers class for the two or three months of the season.

Within the school-aged program, we divide the Level 1 classes into three different classes. This helps meet the varying social-emotional needs and developmental changes of school-aged children. As children begin to master the skills in the Level 1 classes, coaches approve students to move into a Level 2 class. This process is handled within the front office and then communicated to families. Further movement between upper-level classes is dealt with similarly.

NOTE

When trying to enroll in or waitlist for classes, a “Register” link will appear next to the classes, or they will be visible within the parent portal. When a class is full, a “Waitlist” link will appear. For classes that are both full and have a full waiting list, a link will not be available. This means the waiting list is full. We recommend checking back periodically to see if the waiting list has become available for you to join.

Waiting lists are capped at a certain number of students to keep classes and those waiting as manageable as possible. Joining a waiting list does not guarantee you will be offered an opening. During the later part of the season, most waiting lists are closed.

Class Cost:

Prices listed below refer to signing up for one class; once-a-week attendance. Tuition is billed monthly and is based on 4 weeks/4 lesson within the month. TCG will adjust billing for months with more than 4 lessons as well as prorate for months with less than 4 lessons. Enrolling in more than one class per week is not required, but is encouraged for upper level classes as it will help gymnasts get stronger and improve their skills more quickly. Remember, repetition is key to developing gymnastics skills.

Class Schedule:

During the school year (September to mid-June), we offer children’s gymnastics classes in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings Monday – Saturdays.

During the summer months, our regular season stops. While the gym primarily focuses on day camps from mid-June to the end of August, we do offer a limited children’s gymnastics schedule. Classes held during the summer months are completely separate from regular season classes.

“We’ve been members at the Children’s Gym for about two years now and it has become the highlight of our week! We were even introduced to Irish Dance through the gym, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.

I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much we truly appreciate Coach Maddie. She is gentle, kind, and so encouraging. The way she speaks and listens to each child in her class is inspiring. Her gentle method of coaching has inspired the children in her class to do their very best. She is an exceptional example of what a child’s gymnastics coach should be. We leave the gym being touched by her kindness and are better for it.” – Amanda

Preschool Gymnastics Classes

18 months through 5 years

Preschool classes are designed to support the physical, social, cognitive, and emotional growth of students while providing an engaging learning environment for gymnasts of all skill levels. Whether your child is brand new to gymnastics or has been practicing for years, our preschool program will instill confidence, build strength, and develop a strong gymnastics foundation for your child.

If you have any further questions regarding classes, please don’t hesitate to contact our office. We are happy to discuss them with you.

School Aged Gymnastics Classes

6 years & Older

Upon joining The Children’s Gym, students are automatically placed in the introductory level class corresponding to their age. Coaches will monitor students’ skill progression, and we will notify you when your child is ready to advance to the next level.

Level 1 classes are separated by age. Starting at Level 2, classes are separated only by skill level. No two students will progress at the same rate. We believe that children need to be allowed to achieve at a pace that is comfortable for them, and we encourage students to focus on their strengths and be proud of their accomplishments. Each level spans a wide range of skills, and it is not uncommon for a student to spend multiple seasons in a particular class level before advancing.

School-Aged classes are 55 minutes long and have either a 6:1 or an 8-1 student-coach ratio.
