Competitive Performing Group
The Competitive Performing Group is The Children’s Gym first competitive team. Performers in the program commit to an entire season of classes with the same teammates, and they focus primarily on their tumbling and dancing skills and compete in a group acrobatics routine at 4 to 5 dance competitions from February to June.
Unlike an artistic gymnast who competes on the floor, vault, uneven bars and balance beam, The Children’s Gym’s Performing Group will compete at dance competitions, performing a group tumbling routine in an acrobatics category. The group will perform in special costumes that coincide with their routine music (as opposed to leotards worn in gymnastics competitions).
Enrollment in the Competitive Performing Group requires students to attend and successfully pass a try-out, as students will have to showcase high-level skills, showmanship, and great work ethic. Classes will meet once a week for an hour and a half.
Please note: Attending a try-out does not guarantee a student a spot on the team.
The Competitive Performing Group is a great way for your child to explore a different side of gymnastics and build confidence. They get an opportunity to really put on a show and shine while on stage!
