The Children’s Gym’s Irish Dancing Program is unique, fun, and an awesome workout for the body and mind. We are confident that our program has something to offer every child, so we allow every prospective student to try TWO free classes – one light shoe class and one heavy shoe class. Our 2016-17 season classes will run from Wednesday, August 31, 2016, through Wednesday, June 14th, 2017. 2017-18 season classes will resume on Monday, August 7, 2017.

During Winter Break and Spring Break, TCG takes a break from normal weekly classes and offers full day Irish Dance Camps instead (learn more about our awesome Winter & Spring camps here).  During Summer Break, we offer full day Summer Irish Dance Camps in addition to our weekly season classes.

Our program is distinguished by our positive teaching philosophy, beautiful dance studio, passionate instructors, and small student-teacher ratio. We cap our classes for 3-4 year-olds at five students and our classes for ages 5-14 at six students to ensure that students receive plenty of one-on-one instruction time with the teacher, as well as positive group interaction.  Our 55-minute classes are priced at $81 per month for a 4 week month (4 lessons), and tuition is always adjusted accordingly for longer or shorter months.  For more information regarding our billing policies click here, and don’t forget to call or email us today to schedule your two free trial classes!

Classes for Ages 3-4

55-minute classes│ $81 per month for once per week  │ $153.90 per month for twice per week

Our 3-4 year old classes are limited to 5 students per class, so each student gets plenty of one-on-one time with the teacher. Classes are designed to intrigue 3-4 year olds, disguising valuable repetition by quickly changing between fun activities and exciting props. Our goal is to build confidence and coordination, and we design class to be easily adaptable for children just separating from their parents or new to a classroom environment. The consistent structure of our classes combined with the constant positive reinforcement of our teaching style sets students up for success, so they have tons of fun and learn to love dancing!

We highly recommend starting off taking two classes per week – one light shoe class and one heavy shoe class. Both classes introduce Irish dancing foot placement, posture, basic movements, rhythm and timing, and simple patterns.  Each class begins with a structured warm-up and ends with guided stretching. The two shoe types offer very fun and different experiences, while also complimenting each other. Taking twice per week creates valuable repetition that allows students to improve much more quickly than if they only took one shoe type per week.

Classes for Ages 5-6

Classes for Ages 7-14

Our 7-14 year old classes are limited to 6 students per class, so each student gets plenty of one-on-one time with the teacher. Class is designed for the maturity and mentality of 7-14 year olds, utilizing a mixture of group work and independent stations to keep students engaged and having fun. The consistent structure of our classes combined with the constant positive reinforcement of our teaching style sets students up for success, so they have tons of fun and learn to love dancing!

Advanced Classes

90-minute classes │ $122 per month for once per week│ $231.80 per month for twice per week

When the dance instructor feels a student has the appropriate mentality and has learned enough dance moves and patterns to be successful in the next level class, they will invite them to join the Advanced Class. A student can then choose to stay in their current class or transfer to one or more of the Advanced Class times offered throughout the week.

All Advanced Classes are 90 minutes in length, limited to 6 students per class, and teach both shoes, so students need both shoe types to participate. Students start each class with a choreographed 10-minute warm-up routine and end each class with complex cool-down stretching designed to improve flexibility. Advanced Classes are a thorough workout, designed to increase strength, stamina, and flexibility, to maintain and improve all introductory moves and patterns, to teach next level moves and patterns, and to be all around challenging and fun!

Performance Team

90-minute classes │ $122 per month

When the dance instructor feels an Advanced student has the appropriate mentality and has learned enough dance moves and patterns, they will invite them to join the Performance Team. Performance Team dancers take two classes per week, one Performance Team class and one Advanced Class. They continue to work through their level patterns in their Advanced Class, and they learn group performance routines in their Performance Team class. Performance Team dancers sign a seasonal team commitment, which lays out their responsibilities, performance schedule, and what it means to be a part of a team.

Performance Team classes are 90 minutes in length. There can be up to 12 students in Performance Team classes so that students can learn large group dance routines. Performance Team teaches routines in both shoes, and Performance Team dancers are required to have Irish light and heavy shoes (we recommend Hallmore’s beginner light and beginner jig shoe, as they are very affordable compared to other brands!).
